EXTREMELY BRIEF RELEASE NOTES FOR TORQUEMADA 1.1.0
What's new in this release?
Almost nothing. This is in the nature of wiping up the counter, to
quote a friend, and the improvements are all but transparent.
1. The intelligent linefeed processing from Elfniks has been
implemented in Torquemada. As before, if you have a DOS file (wherein
every line ends with a carriage return and a linefeed), the linefeeds
will be thrown away. But, if you have a Unix file (with each line
ending only with a linefeed), the linefeeds will be converted to
carriage returns. I could have done this last week, but I'm thick...
1a. If you want to do nothing but either lose or convert linefeeds,
you can make a null set that has no search/replace strings defined.
1b. If you want to clean up a PC-PostScript file so that it will
image properly from a Mac downloader, you can use the (exceptionally
simple) "PC to Mac PostScript" set included in the "Torquemada
Explained" folder.
2. The file naming logic at Save Set is slightly more intelligent.
Basically, Torque remembers the true name of the set in a few more
circumstances.
3. Kvetchmaster Mike Arst found a few more problems with the manual,
and these have been cleaned up.
Everything's tied up in a neat little bundle, so this is the version
best-suited for propagation to other systems, if your mind turns in
that direction. Please do include the whole archive as uploaded to
CompuServe.
If you are a beneficiary of such propagation, there is a real manual
covering all of Torquemada in the "Torquemada Explained" folder.
Best,
Greg Swann
